The Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization focused on developing earlier diagnostics and smarter treatments. Translational genomics research is a relatively new field employing innovative advances arising from the Human Genome Project and applying them to the development of diagnostics, prognostics and therapies for cancer, neurological disorders, diabetes and other complex diseases.
Caribou is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, founded by pioneers in CRISPR genome editing, leveraging our proprietary technology to develop genome-edited off-the-shelf immune cell therapies for the treatment of cancer. We believe that cell therapies are critical now and for the future of cancer therapy and that advanced genome editing is necessary to develop sophisticated cell therapies to treat a variety of malignancies. We are developing a pipeline of genome-edited, off-the-shelf CAR-T and CAR-NK cell therapies for a range of tumor types. Our mission is to develop innovative, transformative therapies for patients with devastating diseases through novel genome editing. So—MAT—us is derived from the Latin word `Somata`, the plural form of `Soma`, which are the cells of the body—free of germ cells. We take Somatus to mean “our healthy bodies”.
