MJHS is one of the largest health systems in the region. Our range of health services include home care, hospice and palliative care for adults and children, rehabilitation and nursing care (Menorah and Isabella Center) and the research based MJHS Institute for Innovation and Palliative Care. We also offer health plans for Medicare and dual-eligible individuals. Albany Med is the region`s only academic health sciences center, serving more than three million people in the 25 counties of northeastern New York and western New England. It incorporates the 734-bed Albany Medical Center Hospital, which offers the widest range of medical and surgical services in the region, and the Albany Medical College, which trains the next generation of doctors, scientists and other healthcare professionals, and which also includes a biomedical research enterprise and the region`s largest physicians practice with 425 doctors. The ECMC Corporation includes an advanced academic medical center (ECMC) with 602 inpatient beds, on- and off-campus health centers, more than 30 outpatient specialty care services and Terrace View, a 390-bed long-term care facility. ECMC is a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, a regional center for burn care, behavioral health services, transplantation, medical oncology and head and neck cancer care, rehabilitation and a major teaching facility for the University at Buffalo. Most ECMC physicians, dentists and pharmacists are dedicated faculty members of the university and/or members of a private practice plan.
