Job Description
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for driving extraordinary revenue growth at GFI Software, a trusted provider of affordable and easy-to-use IT solutions to thousands of small to mid-sized businesses (SMB`s) across the globe. Through vision, innovation and experimentation, the CMO will create a differentiated demand generation model that performs at substantially higher levels than existing models. Working closely with inside sales colleagues, the CMO will lead a cross-functional marketing team that drives double-digit revenue growth through dramatically improved customer acquisition, retention, upsell and cross sell.
Key responsibilities
The CMO is responsible for building and leading a cross-functional marketing team that creates both a low-cost scalable lead generation engine which generates highly qualified prospects to the internal sales team for conversion to paying customers as well as retention marketing engine to both end users and partners that optimizes lifetime value. Versed in the latest strategies and techniques of digital inbound marketing, the CMO will advance the state-of-the-art in ways that allow GFI to scale through organic and inorganic product growth. The CMO will report directly to the CEO. He/she understands the core tenets of marketing, but applies cutting-edge techniques that differ radically from traditional, offline marketing practices. He/she has extensive experience in creating metrics-driven, online inbound marketing programs for the SMB market -- programs that have demonstrated their effectiveness in obtaining customers in the cheapest and most repeatable ways possible.
Qualifications and Key Selection Criteria
Skills and experience
• Excellent English communication (written and verbal)
• Proven experience as a marketing technologist in creating growth strategies that combine product, data and marketing expertise
• Experience building metrics-driven marketing processes in low acquisition cost, high churn customer segments
• Evidence of building innovative, rule-changing strategies that result in measurable improvements in customer acquisition, retention, upsell and cross sell
• History of proactively partnering with sales organizations to drive growth
• Technical knowledge and in-depth experience in building digital inbound marketing competencies, including SEO, SEM, A/B testing, email and social
• Experience with innovative content marketing for both owned and earned content to deliver and nurture top of funnel leads
• Experience managing state-of-art CRM programs related to marketing automation and portal experiences.
• Understands the value and balance of brand and customer acquisition within a channel sales business model.
• Analytical and data-driven approach to solving business problems
• Experience managing to a set of KPIs, reporting on performance, and devising strategies and tactics for improvement
