Named for Col. Louis D. Wilson, a prominent 19th Century eastern North Carolina legislator, the City of Wilson is the county seat of Wilson County. Located east of Raleigh with a population of approximately 49,628. Wilson`s agricultural roots date back to our days as the world`s largest brightleaf tobacco market.
