Overview
The Vice President, Human Resources provides leadership in developing and executing HR strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of total rewards, compensation, compliance, and associate relations. Critical to the success of the Company, the VP will drive business value through designing and implementing policies that advance organizational strategic and operating needs. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Talent, the VP leads the company-wide HR operation that is responsible for HR management, implementation of well-conceived and designed programs, and harmonization of HR processes, systems, policies, and procedures pertaining to all HR activities.
• Lead and develop an effective, respected, and lean HR team that is business savvy and results-oriented
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization`s HR function and performance
• Participate in the development of organizational plans and programs as a strategic partner, but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people; Translate the organizational strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans
• Be aware of evolving government influences on management, policies, processes, and practices, and work to ensure that the Company is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations concerning employment practices
• Develop progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives, and rewards for effective performance and to provide programs which support the health and welfare protection of Associate
• Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets
• Effectively lead and support the HR Business Partner team in executing successful talent support initiatives in areas such as associate relations, performance coaching, on- and off-boarding, and workforce planning; Includes management of performance appraisal and engagement programs, and implementation of team success tracking tools
• Effectively lead and support the Total Rewards & Compliance team in executing successful initiatives in areas such as, benefits, compensation, incentives and rewards, payroll, internal audits, and HRIS; Includes management of benefit and wellness programs, and implementation of compensation guidelines and internal audit practices
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and Talent Development & Management teams to evaluate, and advise on, the impact of new programs/strategies and regulatory action on the attraction, motivation, development, and retention of Associates
• Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures by way of systems that will improve overall organizational operation and effectiveness; Includes managing the HRIS and necessary reports for critical analyses of HR functions
• Manage the budget and other financial measures of the HR group
• Establish credibility with management and Associates in order to be an effective listener and problem-solver of people issues
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• 4-year college degree in human resources or related field; Advanced degree preferred
• 15+ years` progressively responsible and strategic HR leadership experience with proven success as a business partner and advisor to senior leadership; SPHR certification preferred
• Expertise in federal, state, and local employment, wage, and salary laws and regulations including, but not limited to, EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA
• Proven successful track record in designing and executing effective compensation structures and benefit plans
• Expert time management and organizational skills with ability to thrive in a rapid-paced work environment; Ability to quickly adapt to an often-changing environment and be a champion of change
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; Ability to produce effective presentations
• Superior collaboration skills and ability to manage cross-functional relationships within the organization; Ability to quickly establish credibility and engage others to ensure effective solutions
• Demonstrated success cultivating, negotiating, and building business partnerships
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and varied HRIS software; ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
