The Sonoma Valley Unified School District is located in the rich agriculture area of Northern California, 45 miles northeast of San Francisco. The District`s population of close to 4,500 students is served by the following schools: Five K-5 elementary, two 6-8 middle, two K-8 charter schools, one comprehensive, and one alternative high school. The geographic boundaries of the District (approximately 160 square miles) start in Glen Ellen at the north end of Sonoma Valley and run south through communities of Agua Caliente, Fetters Hot Springs, Boyes Hot Springs, Eldridge, Sonoma, Schellville, and Vineberg, with Hwy. 12 bisecting the Sonoma Valley from Glen Ellen to Schellville.
