Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) centers allow Medicaid eligible children from birth through age 20 with medically-complex conditions to receive continual medical care in a non-residential setting. PPECs are day treatment centers for children with medically complex care needs. Our centers take a holistic approach to the healthcare of your child; we offer skilled nursing and an array of therapies in an environment that incorporates the developmental and social needs of children. We offer holiday and summer break programs for children enrolled in school. Medicaid covers 100% of the cost of our services. Our program administrators can assess any child for appropriateness of service. The nursing staff at Health Care for Kids is the pulse of our organization; we only employ experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate individuals who are committed to improving the overall health of our Health Care for Kids, kids. Our nurses follow a plan of care prescribed by the childs pediatrician, which includes daily nursing assessments, treatments, medications, and coordination of therapies. We collaborate with the entire healthcare team, including family, to ensure continuity and the highest quality of care. Our children receive therapies in accordance with their physicians orders. Our highly skilled pediatric therapists provide the following services in-house: • Physical Therapy • Occupational Therapy • Speech Therapy Transportation is offered to and from our centers for each child free of charge to the family. Our vehicles have a qualified team members on board, apart from the driver, to ensure every child has a safe and comfortable ride.
