Camino Nuevo Charter Academy

Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) is a community of high-performing public schools that utilizes a comprehensive approach to prepare students from preschool through high school for success in college and in life. We integrate academic rigor, community, family, and wellness to empower students to thrive in a culturally connected and changing world. WHO WE SERVE CNCA students reside in some of the most historically underserved areas of Central Los Angeles, including the communities of MacArthur Park, Pico-Union, Wilshire Corridor, and Echo Park – a region that holds the second densest neighborhood in the U.S., where the annual family income is among the lowest in the city. OUR GOALS By 2022, more than 2,000 CNCA graduates will be equipped with skills, knowledge, and worldview necessary to be literate, critical thinkers and independent problem solvers. As a result of this success, 90% will be accepted to, 80% will attend and 60% will graduate from a 4-year college within 6 years. MISSION The mission of Camino Nuevo Charter Academy is to educate students in a college preparatory program to be literate, critical thinkers, and independent problem solvers who are agents of social justice with sensitivity toward the world around them. CORE VALUES Scholarship: We seek knowledge through experiential learning for continuous social, emotional and cognitive growth. Respect: We treat everyone humanely and refrain from making assumptions or judgments about people who think and behave differently from us. Access: We create pathways for each individual to effect change for self and community. Justice: We promote equity, access and the expansion of networks for individual and organizational advancement. Community: We leverage our strengths to maximize individual and collective impact.
