The County of Wellington is a special place for more than 90,000 residents who call the municipality home. Formed in 1840, the County of Wellington encompasses more than 2,600 square kilometres and is approximately an hour`s drive west of Toronto. The County of Wellington has been widely honoured in the recent past. Last year, the County was recognized nationally for having the Best Health and Wellness Strategy at the Canadian HR Awards and for being awarded as Canada`s Safest Employer by Canadian Occupational Safety. In 2012, the County of Wellington was designated as one of 64 “Safe Communities” by Safe Communities Canada, and in 2008, Wellington County was recognized as one of Canada`s Top Employers by Maclean`s Magazine. As an organization, the County offers diverse opportunities to work in our community, such as: a Long Term Care Home, 14 Library Branches, Roads and Solid Waste Services, Planning and Development, Green Legacy Tree Nursery, and Social Services, which includes Ontario Works, Child Care Services and Housing.
