Avon Lake is a city in Lorain County, Ohio, United States, located on Lake Erie. The population was 22,581 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Elyria, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Building Department has 6 employees, Building Official, two full time inspectors, one part time inspector, one full time secretary and one part time secretary. Additionally, the Building Department registers contractors who are working in our City. The Building Department has certified building inspectors, electrical inspectors and plumbing inspectors.
