Tacoma is Washington state`s third-largest city, with approximately 199,826 residents. Tacoma became known as the City of Destiny in 1887 after it was designated as the Northern Pacific Railroad`s western terminus in 1873. The Imperial County Workforce Development Board (ICWDB) serves as an advisory board to the County of Imperial Board of Supervisors. ICWDB members are appointed to serve by their respective Board of Supervisor. The Board is comprised of community leaders representing private industry, nonprofits, and public agencies and is mandated by federal legislation to oversee public investments in employment and training programs. This responsibility is accomplished through the activities of the Imperial County Workforce Development Office.
