The Attorney General is the chief legal officer of the State of Illinois, representing all state officials and agencies and enforcing laws on behalf of the people of Illinois. The Office of the Attorney General also serves as the state`s largest public interest law firm, committed to protecting and advancing the interests of the people of Illinois through leadership, advocacy and legal representation. Since 1969, the Central Midlands Council of Governments (CMCOG) has been assisting local governments develop local and regional plans within the four midlands counties (Fairfield, Lexington, Newberry, Richland) of South Carolina, as well as providing local governments with planning and technical support to improve the quality of life within the region.
