Celina is a "Home Rule City" which puts the governing of the city in the hands of the elected City Council with the City Manager implementing those decisions. As a member of the City Council for the past several years, I am proud to be involved in the progression of our community. Comprehensive plans for our future land use and growth have been developed and many have been accomplished. Although we still have several planning projects and decisions to make. These decisions need to be made to ensure we grow with our goals in mind. Since we are located on Hwy. 289 (Preston Road) and the new extension of the Dallas North Tollway, we have quick access to Frisco, Plano, and the DFW area which offers limitless opportunities. That is one of the many reasons my wife and I chose Celina as our home after graduating from Texas A & M University. We loved the small-town charm and both have family which run deep throughout this area. Our families raised us in communities which had great pride in their traditions. This sense of community pride is what we wanted for our children and is exactly what we found in Celina.

With a 546-square mile radius and a population of about 57,000, Haywood County is the third largest county in western North Carolina after Buncombe and Henderson Counties. First established in 1808, Haywood County was named for John Haywood, North Carolina treasurer from 1787 to 1827. Unlike the other 99 counties in the state, all the water in Haywood County originates in Haywood County, including the Pigeon River. The annual average temperature is 54 degrees; the temperature averages 38 degrees in January and 71 degrees in June. Haywood County averages 47.5 inches of rainfall and 12.2 inches of snowfall each year. The Blue Ridge Parkway winds its way around the county with four entrances to this scenic byway and its many hiking, viewing and picnic spots along the way.
Charlottetown is the capital of Canada`s Prince Edward Island. It`s on the southern coast of the province. The Province House National Historic Site hosted the Charlottetown Conference of 1864, spurring the country`s birth. Victoria Row has shops, restaurants and the Confederation Centre of the Arts, with its musical based on “Anne of Green Gables.” Nearby is the Gothic Revival St. Dunstan`s Basilica.
