U.S. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command has approximately 2,500 globally distributed military and civilian personnel, who collect, and exploit environmental information to assist Fleet and Joint Commanders in all warfare areas to guarantee the U.S. Navy`s freedom of operation in the physical battlespace from the depths of the ocean to the stars. Since its 1976 establishment, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General has been at the forefront of the Nation`s efforts to fight waste, fraud and abuse in and improve the efficiency of HHS programs. A majority of OIG`s resources goes toward the oversight of Medicare and Medicaid — programs that represent a significant part of the Federal budget and that affect this country`s most vulnerable citizens. OIG`s oversight extends to programs under other HHS institutions, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health, and the Food and Drug Administration.
