Founded in 1902 and headquartered near Baltimore, Maryland, the American Urological Association (AUA) is a premier urologic association providing invaluable support to the urologic community, with more than 22,000 members throughout the world. As an educational nonprofit organization, the AUA pursues its mission of promoting the highest standards of urologic clinical care through education, research and in the formulation of health care policy. The AUA is governed by its board of directors, which includes six officers, eight section representatives and a group of non-voting consultants. There are a variety of categories for membership, but all members are expected to adhere to the association’s Code of Ethics.
