Located just 21 miles east of downtown Dallas, the City of Forney is a unique community steeped in historic tradition with a blend of modern America. Close enough to the big city to catch all the thrills and excitement of professional sports, elegant dining, shopping, plays, musicals and even amusement parks…yet far enough away to be able to return home to the peace and quiet of a small town neighborhood filled with children’s laughter, little league baseball games and back yard bar-b-ques. Situated east of downtown Dallas on Interstate Highway 80, just north of Interstate Highway 20, Forney is the perfect community for every individual. It is one of fastest growing cities in Kaufman County, which is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. From 2001 to 2006, the City of Forney experienced a 57 percent growth in population. Since the turn of the century, Forney ISD has been ranked as one of the fastest-growing school districts in the State of Texas. During the 2009-2010 school year, Forney ISD had a total enrollment of more than 8,000 students and more than 1,100 teachers and staff. The make up of the district includes nine elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools and one alternative school spread out across the district that spans more than 79 square miles.
Meeting Street is where infants, preschoolers and children of all ages and abilities receive individualized attention from highly trained, dedicated educators, therapists, and staff who work as a team, sharing strategies and identifying solutions to bring out the best in each and every child. The word we hear parents use most often to describe us is, “caring” — caring that continues throughout the day and extends beyond our campus into neighborhoods and homes where we forge strong partnerships with families to help them best meet the challenges in their children`s lives. We help kids of all abilities. We`re known for helping children with multiple and severe challenges, however, we also work with children who have minor or no delays at all. Children in our school programs also benefit from the high teacher-to-student ratio and focus on individual goals. We work closely with parents. After all, families count on us for support and answers, and we have over 65 years of experience. The Power of Inclusion.
