Regional West Medical Center is the primary regional referral center serving western Nebraska and parts of adjoining states. It is a community operated not-for-profit organization, which willingly serves anyone in need and reinvests all of its financial resources toward improving health care in its service area. Regional West Medical Center is part of a larger affiliated group of health services known collectively as Regional West Health Services and including Regional West Physicians Clinic. Regional West Medical Center`s talented and dedicated staff has helped it to expand services to include Level II trauma care, award-winning cancer treatment, and acute rehabilitation as well as to become a Bariatric Center of Excellence. Galesburg Cottage Hospital has received The Joint Commission seal of accreditation and is the only hospital in Galesburg and west- central Illinois to have been named a Top Performer hospital several years in a row for succeeding in several health metrics. Cottage is also the only western Illinois hospital to be accredited by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care as a Chest Pain Center after having met rigorous standards of care in the timely treatment of cardiac emergencies. The Level II Trauma Emergency Department is an Emergency Department approved for Pediatrics by the State of Illinois and is also a Primary Stroke Center as certified by The Joint Commission. With over 70 medical staff members representing a cross section of specialties, Galesburg Cottage Hospital has the area`s only Wound Healing Center with hyperbaric oxygen chambers, Surgical Weight Loss Center, and a renal dialysis center, among many other specialized services.
