We`re among the top 25 independent agencies in the U.S. Founded in 1976, we have some classic brand invigorations to our credit: Sargento Cheese, Oshkosh B`Gosh, Leinenkugel`s and Sharp`s Beer among dozens of others. The day after the "information superhighway" was introduced, we hired our first developer. Now, as an agency tooled for the digital age, nearly a half of our staff in some way helps code the ideas we create.
Mother was founded in London in 1996 by a group of creative, free-thinking individuals sitting around a kitchen table eating lunch. It`s here that the group decided that they were hungry – not for more sandwiches, but to do things differently. They wanted to break free from the shackles of traditional agencies and be 100% independent. To be free to do the best work possible, and not have to answer to any private equity firms, holding companies or indeed any other tentacle of the grotesquely swollen octopus of global capital. Simmons Sharpe was founded in 2015, by Bill Sharpe, the former chairman of Havas Canada, and Heather Simmons, the former CMO of Dell Canada. At Dell, Heather was Bills client for 9 years. Remarkably, they still like each other. They lead the company from hipsterville, better known as Queen East, in Toronto. Most of the actual work however, is done in Halifax, where Mitchell Hunter runs the show. The Simmons Sharpe difference is our focus on end-to-end demand generation and measurement. And by end-to-end, we mean including customer care and sales in marketing initiatives, and automating and measuring from impression to signed contract. Because marketing matters most when it impacts bottom-line sales and builds long-term relationships with customers.
