The Highland Park Independent School District is located immediately north of downtown Dallas in the 6-square-mile suburban area of Highland Park, University Park and a small part of North Dallas. HPISD serves approximately 32,200 residents who are predominantly college-educated professionals and business leaders in the Dallas community. In 2012, HPHS students scored a composite 26.6 on the ACT, compared to the Texas average of 20.8 and the national average of 21.1. HPHS students recorded a composite score of 1792 on the SAT, higher than the Texas average of 1434 and the national average of 1498.
