In 1981, Mr. Bill Fleeman founded America`s Car-Mart because he wanted to help people. He was a homebuilder building quality, low-cost homes for people unable to obtain financing and he carried the contracts to help these individuals. A car enthusiast, Mr. Fleeman was intrigued by the car business and wanted to translate his business practice from the home market to the `buy here pay here` car market. He believed that quality, used vehicles, affordable payment terms and excellent customer service would help him accomplish his goal. And, when he opened the doors, Mr. Fleeman wanted customers to know they could get a good value for their money at Car-Mart. Car-Mart`s vision has not wavered since its inception – “to be America`s best auto sales and finance company in the eyes of its associates and customers while improving the communities it serves.” Car-Mart continues its legacy of providing transportation and financial solutions to thousands of credit-challenged customers. More than 40 years later, Car-Mart`s team of 2,000+ associates sells vehicles to the grandchildren of former customers – a testament to the company`s solid foundation of keeping customers on the road. Today, that emphasis on delivering service, convenience, dependability and peace of mind is at the heart of Car-Mart.
