This is a tremendous opportunity for an individual to lead our firm’s people strategies and serve as a valued business advisor to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Operating Officer (COO) and executive leadership. This senior leader will contribute to the progression of the firm’s strategy of Attracting, Developing, Rewarding and Retaining the Right People for the Organization.

As our CHRO, you will have responsibility for maintaining and continuing our people-culture.
• As key member of Baker Tilly’s leadership team, you will report directly to our COO and have a direct connection to the CEO to set our people strategy.
• You will work collaboratively with the firm’s Managing Partners and other members of the Executive Leadership Team. Our CHRO will serve a critical role in managing the business from a strategic and operational perspective. You will be tasked to continue to design and build our world class human resources (HR) function.
• You will lead a dynamic team of HR professionals located throughout all of Baker Tilly’s regional offices. As their advocate and champion, the CHRO must also demonstrate leadership competencies and experience that will motivate, challenge and inspire the team to effectively develop and execute human resources strategy and operations across the organization
• You will engage in collaborative strategic and innovative discussions about changing workforce demographics and map out clear objectives as we incorporate those changes into our firm’s future.

• You will help the organization anticipate and prepare for emerging trends in the workforce so as to remain on the leading edge of the discipline.

Responsibilities
The CHRO’s responsibilities will include the following:
• Lead the design and implementation of programs in the areas of succession planning, training and development, talent acquisition, talent management, organizational performance, change management and total rewards
• Direct the firm’s strategies and continuous improvement efforts related to optimizing talent and providing a differentiated career experience for more than 2,500 partners and employees.
• Oversee the development and administration of: compensation and classification practices; benefits programs; compliance and reporting functions; HR related mergers and acquisition transitions; performance management; recruitment, employment, and retention; campus relations; separation practices; affirmative action compliance; records management; policy administration and management; and accomplish efficiencies and savings in HR compliance and savings.
• Design and drive organizational strategies related to HR and in alignment with firm goals
• Provide direction and guidance to the HR team firm wide in the performance of their roles, establishing work priorities and in achieving management initiatives, integrated at the firm level.
• Maintain external relationships aimed at providing competitive intelligence for use in developing and considering our people initiatives.
• Create and disseminate meaningful talent analytics and workforce intelligence to business leaders in support of their strategies and plans.
• Lead the firm’s development and communication of our employment brand for recruiting and retention.
• Drive effective external and internal communications related to firm HR strategies, policies and initiatives.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will also have:
• Previous experience as a member of an executive leadership team, providing strategic and operational direction within a decentralized HR function
• Ability to effectively communicate a vision for HR and buy-in from stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt quickly and build relationships, engage and motivate stakeholders
• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills with strong board-room presence and presentation skills
• Expertise in the related technical and legal aspects of human resources
• High standards of excellence for self and others and be able to be a role model for the firm
• Expertise in developing a world class HR organization
• Change agent and change management expertise experience in a high-growth company, and experience with mergers is highly desired.
• Experience leading and managing large teams, and prefer candidates who have experience leading teams in multi-locations
• A bachelor’s degree (required); A master’s degree in business, HR, or related field of study is preferred; Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) Certification is required
• Minimum of twenty (20) years progressive experience in leading the human resources function in a professional services (CPA or consulting firm) or related organization with experience in a matrix environment
• Ability to travel as appropriate
