The Georgia Municipal Association is making a difference in the lives of Georgians by helping city officials tackle the important work they were elected to do. GMA provides training to city officials so they are better equipped to handle the complex issues facing city governments; advocates on behalf of cities at the state Capitol and in Washington, D.C.; and provides employee benefits to city employees so cities can hire and retain the best employees. Created in 1933, the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) is the only state organization that represents municipal governments in Georgia. Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization. GMA`s membership currently totals 521 municipal governments, accounting for more than 99% of the state`s municipal population. A 63-member Board of Directors, composed of city officials, governs GMA, with day-to-day operations carried out by the Executive Director and a 85-person staff.

For more than 70 years, Michigan United Conservation Clubs has been the watchdog for Michigan's natural resources and our outdoor heritage. On November 9, 1937, 92 conservationists representing 35 outdoor clubs held a historic meeting at the Shiawassee Conservation Association. To protect Michigan's outdoors, they formed a united front for conservation and created the Michigan United Conservation Clubs.
