The original Qumu technology for managing and publishing video content was built by eScene Networks in 1999. eScene was acquired by Inktomi in 2001` and Inktomi invested significantly to advance the product and sell it under the name Media Publisher. Our company was born in 2002 when Inktomi was purchased by Yahoo. Two former eScene executives believed in the potential of video management and publishing to shape the way businesses communicate. Purchasing just that portion of the Inktomi product` they launched Media Publisher Inc. after the original product name. Over the next six years` the software developed into a full-fledged enterprise video platform and we rebranded as Qumu in 2008. Since then` Qumu has grown the software into the leading enterprise video platform` and added complimentary product lines. In 2011` Qumu was acquired by Rimage Corporation` who rebranded as the Qumu Corporation in 2012 changing the NASDAQ stock ticker symbol to QUMU. Throughout this period` Qumu experienced rapid growth` expanding to Europe` Asia and the Middle East. In 2014` Qumu acquired the London-based video platform provider` Kulu Valley` rebranding their video platform as Qumu Cloud. In addition to expanding further into Europe and the UK` the merger has combined the strengths of both video platforms to make an even more powerful and versatile solution. Since 1999` we`ve been following a vision of unleashing video`s potential to transform the way the world communicates.
