Pioneer Network was formed in 1997 by a small group of prominent professionals in long-term care to advocate for person-directed care. This group called for a radical change in the culture of aging so that when our grandparents, parents — and ultimately ourselves — go to a nursing home or other community-based setting it is to thrive, not to decline. This movement, away from institutional provider-driven models to more humane consumer-driven models that embrace flexibility and self-determination, has come to be known as the long-term care culture change movement. Our partners and audience are primarily engaged in some aspect of long-term care including long-term care CEOs and administrators, consumers and family caregivers, doctors and nurses, direct care providers, and others who care about, and care for, the aging.
United Way for Greater Austin inspires, leads, and unites an eclectic community of philanthropists including individuals, nonprofits, business and government to overcome barriers to economic opportunities and ensure Greater Austin continues to thrive. United Way for Greater Austin`s work is research-based and results driven and resources are invested so that everyone has access to the promise of Austin. UWATX is involved in the Greater Austin community by running strategic programs such as Success By 6, Target Graduation, Financial Opportunity and the Navigation Center. We engage in civic leadership by developing corporate alliances, public/private partnerships, and philanthropic best practices. UWATX is the philanthropic backbone of Greater Austin, raising $17 million in 2011 through individual, employee, foundation, corporate and online gifts as well as engaging thousands of volunteers through annual Days of Service, employee campaign coordination, and strategic advisors (400+ volunteers committed to the mission of UWATX).
The North American Millers` Association (NAMA) is the trade association of the wheat, corn, oat and rye milling industry. It is comprised of milling member companies operating mills in the United States and Canada and associate member companies representing the industries providing products and services to the mills. NAMA provides leadership through education, information and advocacy to members, policy makers, customers and suppliers in the areas of regulation and legislation, trade, supply and consumption.
