Founded on October 3, 1887, as the State Normal College for Colored Students, what is now Florida A&M was started with 15 students and two instructors. Today, Florida A&M University (FAMU) is one of nine institutions in the State University System. In 2008, Diverse Issues in Higher Education cited FAMU as the #1 producer of African-Americans baccalaureate degree holders. Additional accolades include being named "College of the Year" in 1997 by Time Magazine Princeton Review and was named the No. 1 institution for African Americans in 2007 by Black Enterprise magazine. While the University continues its historic mission of educating African Americans, persons of all races, ethnic origins and nationalities are welcomed and encouraged to remain life-long members of the university community. CUE is a boutique university, small enough that every student is essential yet large enough for a global outlook. In and out of our classrooms and lecture halls, we translate what we learn into extraordinary hands-on experiences. We live and work on a small campus, a river valley oasis, but Edmonton is our workshop. Our ultimate goal has not changed since 1921: to be more than students and professors, to create a community of active citizens, of good and honourable people. CUE offers over 45 majors and minors in Arts, Science and Management, as well as Master`s degrees in Information Security and Education, after degrees in Education and Public Health, and several graduate certificates and diplomas.
Boston College was founded in 1863 by the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) to educate Boston`s predominantly Irish, Catholic immigrant community. It opened its doors on September 5, 1864, in a building on Harrison Avenue in Boston`s South End, a “small streetcar college” for commuting students. When it outgrew the limitations of the space, then-president Rev. Thomas I. Gasson, S.J., bought 31 acres of the former Lawrence Farm in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and broke ground in 1909 on a new campus, today fondly known as “the Heights.” BC began as an undergraduate liberal arts college, but as its aspirations grew, it added graduate programs and professional schools fulfilling its charter as a university.

The college has two campuses in Middletown, New York and in Newburgh, New York. The college also offers additional courses at Warwick, Port Jervis, and Central Valley.
