The company is in discussions with several of the world`s largest carbon fiber makers and a billion dollar per year international energy savings performance company to build five production lines in the next 5 years using the technology. The use of this technology is expected to reduce the cost of carbon fiber by 20%. Because of these advantages, plasma oxidation has the potential of reducing the cost of manufacturing carbon fiber by approximately 30%,” according to a recent article published by the US Department of Energy.
