WTVD-TV is one of eight Disney/ABC Owned television stations. WTVD serves more than 1.1 million viewers in the Raleigh-Durham-Fayetteville TV market (the nation`s 25th largest market). The station signed on the air in 1954 as a CBS and NBC affiliate. WTVD became an ABC affiliate in 1988 when Capital Cities Broadcasting bought the ABC Television Network. WTVD broadcasts newscasts daily 4:30-7 a.m., 12 Noon, 4-6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. The station`s website is abc11.com.
